Welcome to British Borders

Firstly, a warm welcome to our website. At British Borders we are not just your typical Arma 3 role play community. By bringing together players from around the globe, who share our passion for role play, our members become part of our story and are proud to call us home.

We continue to forever challenge the conventional norms that so many Arma communities have come to accept, continuously raising the bar and setting the standards. Our extensive list of features, along with our fantastic user friendly website and our committed staff team, help to deliver an enjoyable, unique and lasting gaming experience.

We would invite you to join us and become part of that experience.

This message will be removed once you sign in.

Maverick

Founder & Owner

Hello there, I am Maverick, the proud owner of this fantastic community many of us call home.

As part of the management team my role at British Borders consists of running the day to day operations of the community and servers.

I founded British Borders back in 2012 when the Arma community was in need of a new, forward looking community with the ambition and determination to deliver a serious roleplay server players could really enjoy and call home.

Our professional staff team, compromised of like minded players who share our passion and enthusiasm for serious roleplay, are committed to helping every member with any questions they may have and oversee their progression within the community.

At the heart of our community are our members. It is their opinions, their presence, their involvement that have shaped the community to be what it is today. This will always remain the most important foundation for our development as a community.

British Borders has a bright future with many new plans and ideas, not to mention our Arma 3 Tanoa life server soon to be released.

We are not going anywhere soon so i would invite you to join us today and make British Borders your home.

Aron

Director

Joined the community in early 2013 and joined the staff team in the same month. I went through all the ranks and worked my way up to Director of Human Resources. In that position I've shaped and formed the staff team into what I believed to be the best team. Due to other roles and responsibilities I'v left that position after a year and instead focused on developing and working on various programs and features to improve Teamspeak and Remote Administration Tools. As the Director of Programming I'm responsible of the development and upkeep of Teamspeak and the British Borders custom Rcon tool called BBCAT.

Developers

Marshall

Marshall

Map & Texture Developer / Webmaster / Graphics Designer

ABOUT ME:
My name is Miroslav, a Map & Textures Developer  for British Borders.
I'm 20 years of age and from Sofia, Bulgaria. I speak fluent English and Bulgarian.

MY JOB:
I've got many responsibilities, some of which require more attention than others.
Map Developer - An important architect behind many of our featured map builds.
Texture Developer - Helping to create unique, high quality skins for our many vehicles and characters.
Webmaster- Responsible for programming the code that “tells” a website how to function.
Graphics Designer - Creating visual concepts via software to inspire, inform or captivate consumers.

MY HOBBIES:
Web Development, Content Management Systems, System Administration, Network Management, Digital Forensics and Penetration Testing.

MY STORY:
I joined British Borders in 2014 because I needed to take my mind off some issues. I remember it like it was yesterday, I was playing as a police officer, arresting
criminals and issuing tickets. Funny enough I was kicked for not being on teamspeak as a police officer so I decided to connect and see what all the fuss is about.
I was hooked and fell in love with the game. Within a week I applied for membership and was on my way to become an official Police Cadet!

Couple months later I was promoted to Police Inspector. Around the same time I was invited by the SCO19 Leader to join their faction.
After 6-8 months of being in SCO19 I managed to reach the rank of Squad Leader and Sniper Instructor. The days when being called a sniper was an elite title.

I applied for the staff team around the same time and started out as a trainee support. Within 9-10 months I managed to reach the rank of Staff Leader.
Couple months after that I was given the award for Long Service (Be in the staff team for over a year).

With time my interest started to go down and I got less and less excited about the game, which is why I left and decided to have a break from British Borders.
Played many other games and after a couple months I got my passion back. I returned to British Borders and worked my way to a position that I'm comfortable.

Mission Developer

I joined the community August 2016 through the Arma 3 steam coding discussions, I spoke with Maverick and applied for the developer position. After a few test and a lot of stress i got accepted as a Junior Developer. I'm proud to be a Developer for this great community

What do I develop?

At this moment i keep my self busy with the smaller things on server development since I'm still in a learning process i have learned so much in the past month but I also enjoyed every small bit off it. I like making UI even though my OCD sometimes makes me completely re-do my design because in coding everything can be "Better" and more optimized. I also like to keep my self amused with player handling scripts and interaction stuff, the main modules are made by my mentor Bull

What do I play?

Well, i mostly play games like Euro Truck Simulator 2, GTA 5, Arma 3&2 CS:GO, Car Mechanic Simulator, Simcity and Cities Skylines.

What can you expect from me?

Well, I'm a pretty straight forward person. I will say what i need to say nothing more nothing less unless I'm playing with Marshall. I don't get mad and i keep calm.

What do I want to achieve?

I hope to become a Senior Developer and increase my knowledge on mission development so I can keep improving and making the experience on the Life server more fun for you guys to play.

Mission Developer

I joined the community in late November 2016. While not being an expert like others in the team on Arma 3 Development, I try to make up for it with my willingness to learn and improve. In real life I am comp. sci. student in Germany and am also currently working part time as a Java-SE in a small company.
Looking forward I hope that I will be an valued asset to this community.

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye

Administrator

Hello! I am Eagle Eye. I've been around the community for over one and a half years with a longer break due to me leaving the community to visit another country for a while. Since the very beginning I have enjoyed the people here and the great diversity of features and jobs on the server. I joined the British Borders Staff Team in October 2015 with the goal of helping the community and making sure it runs smoothly. This has been my favorite part of being here so far, although I greatly enjoyed being part of the Takistan Police Force Senior Command as an Inspector as well. When the last Commissioner resigned, I led the Police Force along with long-time Administrator Sgt. Clark. We kept it running until the day the ArmA II server shut down. Besides that, I was offered the position of a Membership Coordinator shortly after I became a Moderator, where I made decisions on applications and interviewed potential new members until the membership team was disbanded.

Hello, my name is Cado but most call me Cal. I joined British Borders in March 2016 where I found myself playing on the server almost daily and I got attached to the community instantly. I began by designing graphics for the website where I then accepted the role as Graphic Designer. I was heavily involved with the development of the website because of this, which lead me to the next step of joining the Web Team.  Soon after I also applied to be a member of support which was successful and have since progressed to a Moderator where I am today.
